I am text blogging

Day 31

The blog is getting there. Today my dad flew in from Haiti, my daughter was sick and I worked a 20 hour day. Besides dinner and stress there were 100 other things that went wrong, not to mention dealing with the usual insanity that happens in the service industry and the fitness industry in particular.

Yet through it all I still persevere. The whole point of this excercise is that it is not excercise, but a way of life. That feeling of depression and malaise that overcomes you? that makes you want to take a drink or a smoke or a bite? that is what Fitness 360 is designed to stop.

Lets pull it all together and do it, one more day, 60 minutes. Think how fast 60 minutes goes by in your life. On a call, at a dinner watching TV, but think how long it is when you are working out. Why is that? Because it is the bes 1 hour you will spend all day. So I am not going to think about it, I gonna be about it. One more day.

I spoke to a business associate in VA, the guy as been doing Fitness 360 for years, and he looks like it, so it can be done.

Let's do it. One more day, one more obstacle turned down!

356 days to go!

What can I say? I'm doing it. Starting easy, really. One workout at the gym, one run and one workout at home. This weekend I will be out of town so I have to figure out what I can do. How's it going for everyone else?

Two Days to Go

Days till start! What will you do this week? Start easy so you don't get burned out.

Monday  - I'll take a 20 minute run
Tuesday - gym workout 60 minutes
Weds - Train at home from the sidebar recommendations
Thursday - half hour swim
Friday - Back to the gym
Sat - 20 minute run
Sunday - work out at home again

I'm also going to look for a yoga class to take once a week. I think the stretching will be good for me as I am waaaaay to tight.

What was I thinking?!?

So I thought if I publicly announced my reasons for committing to Fitness 360 it will actually force me to follow through, and maybe some others out there can sympathize. . .

1) I have an office job for the first time in my life, and if I don't jump around for at least 20 minutes before I go to work I will NEVER get anything done.
2) Be proud of myself for committing to such a long endeavor.
3) Look totally sexxxy.
4) Help with long-term Haiti reconstruction efforts, because people have short-term memories when it comes to natural disasters.
5)What's your inspiration?

I'm here. Does that count for my 20 minutes?

I don't feel like I have much to contribute just yet. I have no motivational words of wisdom to share. So, here's a little about...

Me: Sarah-mother, wife...blah blah blah, the usual.
Confession: I used to be a gym rat and now I don't care about it at all.
Disclaimer: I'm committing to 90 days only. We'll see about the rest.
Goal: I'm hoping that in those 90 days I'll rediscover what it was that I loved about working out and have the desire to continue with the other 270 days.

Why would you want to work out for 360 days straight?

For lots of great reasons:
1. It will change your attitude towards fitness, making it a part of your everyday life.  You will exercise daily, and you will steadily build up your strength and fitness level.
2. Instead of depriving yourself, you will be  giving yourself the gift of fitness, something that no one else can do.
3. You won't be alone. All of us will be doing it together, sharing the ups and downs (no pun intended) and cheering one another on.
4. You will look and feel better than you ever have.
